Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • All submissions must meet the following requirements.

    • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
    • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
    • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
    • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
    • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the International Journal of Medical Science and Dental Health (IJMSDH) for the publication of your research. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, please adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript Preparation:

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in English and submitted as a Microsoft Word document.
  • Use a clear and concise writing style, adhering to professional standards of grammar and punctuation.
  • Include a title page with the title of the manuscript, author(s)' names and affiliations, corresponding author's contact information (including email address), and any acknowledgments.
  • Abstracts should be between 150 to 250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
  • Keywords: Include 3 to 6 keywords below the abstract to facilitate indexing and searchability.
  • The main text should be organized into sections such as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

2. Manuscript Formatting:

  • Use Times New Roman font, size 12, with double spacing throughout the manuscript.
  • Ensure margins are set to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Figures and tables should be embedded within the text at appropriate locations.
  • Number tables and figures sequentially and provide clear captions.
  • Use SI units for all measurements.

3. References:

  • Cite references using the Vancouver style (numbered citations) within the text.
  • List all references numerically in the order they appear in the text.
  • Provide complete details for each reference including author(s)' names, title, journal/book title, volume, issue, page numbers, and DOI (if available).

4. Ethical Considerations:

  • Authors must adhere to ethical guidelines including obtaining necessary permissions for research involving human subjects or animals.
  • Clearly state any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or financial disclosures.

5. Submission Process:

  • Submit manuscripts through the online submission system of the International Journal of Medical Science and Dental Health.
  • Ensure all necessary documents (manuscript, figures, tables, etc.) are included at the time of submission.
  • Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your manuscript.

6. Review Process:

  • Submitted manuscripts will undergo rigorous peer review by experts in the field.
  • Authors may be required to address reviewer comments and revise their manuscript accordingly.

7. Publication Ethics:

  • IJMSDH adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and expects authors to do the same.
  • Plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of data are strictly prohibited.

8. Open Access Policy:

  • IJMSDH supports open access publication, ensuring research is accessible to all interested readers.

9. Copyright:

  • Authors retain copyright of their work published in IJMSDH but are required to grant the journal the right of first publication.
