Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines for the International Journal of Medical Science and Dental Health
Thank you for considering the International Journal of Medical Science and Dental Health (IJMSDH) for the publication of your research. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts via the IJMSDH Online Submission System available on the journal's official website. Manuscripts should be in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. Submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter explaining the importance and originality of the research.
2. Article Types
We accept the following types of submissions:
Original Research Articles: Comprehensive studies with significant new findings (typically 3000-7000 words).
Review Articles: Critical analyses and overviews of research topics (4000-6000 words).
Case Reports: Detailed presentations of single cases in medical or dental health (2000-3000 words).
Short Communications: Brief research findings or preliminary results (1000-2000 words).
Letters to the Editor: Comments or critiques on recently published articles (500-1500 words).
3. Manuscript Preparation
All submissions should be formatted as follows:
3.1 General Formatting
Language: English (U.S. spelling).
Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
Line Spacing: 1.5, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
Figures & Tables: Embedded within the text and numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.). Figures must be high resolution (300 dpi).
Abbreviations: Define abbreviations at first mention in the text.
3.2 Manuscript Structure
Title Page: Include a concise and descriptive title (max 20 words), author names, affiliations, corresponding author's contact information, and acknowledgment of any financial support.
Abstract: Provide a structured abstract (200-300 words) including Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Keywords: Include 4-6 relevant keywords.
Introduction: Clearly state the background, objectives, and significance of the research.
Materials and Methods: Provide sufficient details to allow the experiment to be replicated.
Results: Present findings with clarity, using tables and figures where appropriate.
Discussion: Interpret the results, addressing their implications and any limitations.
Conclusion: Summarize the study's major findings and contributions to the field.
Acknowledgments: Mention contributors and funding sources.
References: Follow Vancouver Style (numbered citation style). Ensure that all references are cited in the text.
4. Ethical Considerations
IJMSDH adheres to the highest ethical standards. All submitted manuscripts must comply with the following ethical guidelines:
Informed Consent: For studies involving human participants, authors must state that informed consent was obtained.
Ethical Approval: Studies involving human or animal subjects must have received ethical approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research.
5. Plagiarism Policy
IJMSDH follows a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism. All submissions will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected without review.
6. Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process:
Manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team for scope and quality.
Selected manuscripts are sent to at least two expert reviewers.
Authors will receive feedback within 4-6 weeks and may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on the reviewers' comments.
The final decision (accept, revise, reject) rests with the editor-in-chief.
7. Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement, transferring the copyright of their manuscript to IJMSDH. Articles are published under an open access model, where readers have free and unlimited access to the articles online. The content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)
, allowing others to distribute, remix, and build upon the work, provided proper credit is given to the authors.
8. Article Processing Charges (APC)
There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the cost of publication. The current APC is USD 120 per accepted article. There are no submission fees.
9. Manuscript Withdrawal
Once a manuscript has been accepted and is in production, withdrawal is only permitted under special circumstances with the consent of the editor-in-chief.
