SMILES WITH WIT: A CASE REPORT OF ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT USING THE FIXED PARTIAL APPLIANCE

Abstract

This case report presents a unique and witty approach to orthodontic treatment using the fixed partial appliance. The fixed partial appliance, also known as the fixed orthodontic retainer, is typically used for post-treatment retention to maintain tooth alignment. However, in this case, the fixed partial appliance was creatively modified to address specific orthodontic challenges during active treatment. The patient, a 19-year-old female with crowding and misalignment, underwent orthodontic treatment with this innovative appliance. The fixed partial appliance proved to be a versatile tool, providing precise control over tooth movement and achieving remarkable results. The witty application of this appliance allowed for improved aesthetics, reduced treatment time, and increased patient comfort. This case report demonstrates the effectiveness of thinking outside the box in orthodontics and showcases the potential of the fixed partial appliance as a versatile treatment tool.
