Abstract

This cross-sectional study aimed to assess the prevalence and risk factors associated with smoking and tobacco use among construction site workers in Jaipur city. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 500 workers. The study found that the prevalence of smoking and tobacco use was high, with 28% of workers smoking and 48% using tobacco. Chewing tobacco was the most common form of tobacco use. The study also identified a significant association between smoking and tobacco use and the level of education and income of the workers. The findings highlight the need for targeted interventions to address tobacco use among construction site workers in Jaipur city, particularly those with lower levels of education and income.
