COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF DISINFECTANTS FOR GUTTA-PERCHA CONES: AN IN VITRO STUDY

Abstract

The present study aimed to assess the effectiveness of various disinfectants for gutta-percha cones through an in vitro investigation. Gutta-percha cones are widely used in endodontic procedures for root canal obturation, but their disinfection is crucial to prevent cross-contamination and potential post-treatment infections. In this comparative evaluation, different disinfectant agents were tested against gutta-percha cones, evaluating their antimicrobial efficacy and compatibility with the material.

A total of [number] gutta-percha cones were divided into [number] groups, each treated with a different disinfectant solution. The tested agents included [list of disinfectants]. A standard microbial challenge was introduced to the treated cones, simulating real-world conditions.
