VISION RESTORED: A CASE REPORT ON PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION WITH CUSTOM-MADE OCULAR PROSTHESIS

Abstract

This case report presents the successful prosthetic rehabilitation of a patient with a custom-made ocular prosthesis, aiming to restore both aesthetics and function after the loss of an eye. The patient, a 32-year-old male, suffered a traumatic injury resulting in enucleation of his right eye. The custom-made ocular prosthesis was designed and fabricated using advanced digital scanning and 3D printing technology to achieve a precise fit and natural appearance. The rehabilitation process involved careful assessment, patient counseling, and meticulous adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes. The patient experienced significant improvement in self-esteem and quality of life following the prosthetic rehabilitation. This case report emphasizes the importance of individualized approaches in ocular prosthesis design and highlights the positive impact on patients' well-being.
