PREVALENCE OF GINGIVITIS AND PERIODONTITIS IN NORTHERN INDIA: AN ORIGINAL RESEARCH STUDY

Abstract

This original research study aims to determine the prevalence of gingivitis and periodontitis in Northern India. Periodontal diseases are a significant public health concern worldwide, impacting oral health and overall well-being. In this study, a cross-sectional survey was conducted on a representative sample of individuals from various regions of Northern India. Clinical examinations and periodontal measurements were performed to assess the prevalence and severity of gingivitis and periodontitis. The findings reveal the burden of periodontal diseases in the Northern Indian population, providing valuable data for oral health planning and intervention strategies in the region. Understanding the prevalence of these conditions is crucial to implement targeted preventive measures and improve oral health outcomes for the population in Northern India.
